North Carolina A&T State University began as a land-grant university. Founded in 1890, North Carolina A&T State University has grown from a historic school into an advanced, research based school that has won several awards. North Carolina A&T State University Application Requirements
To apply as a freshman to North Carolina A&T State University, students must submit a completed application to the Office of Graduate Admissions. The application form may be submitted online or through the post along with the $55 non-refundable application fee.
In addition to this application, students must also submit their SAT or SAT scores to the schools. These scores must be sent directly to the school in order to be considered valid. These scores, along with the official high school transcript, will be used to determine the admission status of applicants.
Students who wish to apply for fall admission must submit their applications by April 1st each year. Students who are interested in applying for spring admission must submit their applications by November 1st.
Tuition and Financial Aid
Students who are residents of the states of North Carolina have discounted tuition rates. Undergraduates who choose to take 12 credit hours or more of class each tuition will pay $3,849.59 per semester of education. This fee includes tuition, fees and health insurance but does not include room and board.
Students who are not from the state of North Carolina and do not meet the residency requirements will pay $10,229.59 when they take 12 credits hours or more of class each semester. This fee includes tuition, fees and health insurance for one semester.
The costs of residence halls and meal plans vary depending on the preferences and the needs of the individual students.
All incoming freshman are also charged a $35 fee for first year experience. They are also assessed a $200 orientation fee.

Student Experience
North Carolina A&T State University is the home of more African-American accountancy and engineering graduates than any other college of its kind in America. In fact, it is the number one school of African-American engineers in the country. Many graduates even attain jobs before they leave school.
North Carolina A&T State University’s commitment to science has been recognized by several awards and achievements. The U.S. News and World Report has placed the College of Engineering within the top third of the Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs in the United States. The university is also home to the National Science Foundation and Engineering Research Center.
However, the university’s academic excellence extends beyond engineering. The campus life at the school offers a beautiful, green location that is only a short distance from the downtown area of Greensboro. As a result, the campus life offers a number of student organizations, clubs and sports teams for students to participate in.
The Sport Science and Fitness Management degree, which is a part of Human Performance and Leisure Studies, is the perfect example of the amalgamation of sports and science at the university. This combined degree offers students the chance to study sports science, which teaches students how to apply scientific principles with sports performance. The fitness management portion of the degree prepares students for a leadership and mentorship role within the sports world.
Students are able to choose from three different curriculum options in this program. In the pre-physical therapy option, students are able to progress on to a graduate program in exercise science or in different parts of sports medicine. In the business administration option, students are able to combine their knowledge of sports science with a career in business administration. In the leisure studies option, students are able to combine their knowledge of sports science with the knowledge of operating public parks, recreation agencies and leisure programs of different types.
This program is supplemented by the culture of sports and fitness on campus and in Greensboro. Students are all encouraged to participate in fitness, recreational and sports activities at the community and university level. Some of the recreation opportunities available on campus include:

The school is also home to NCAA Division I athletics teams. Some of men’s teams include basketball, baseball, football and track and field. Some of the women’s teams include tennis, swimming, softball, volleyball and basketball.
The sports programs at the university are the source of a wider university and community pride. However, this pride is also supplemented by a long history of education and successful graduates. Some of the most successful graduates have gone on to travel to space, run for president and run different public and private organizations. North Carolina A&T State University is also the academic home of the A&T Four who helped to launch the civil rights movement in the south.
The school has a long history but what it prides itself on is how it is using the spirit of its history to build a brighter future. Although it is a small school in a rural part of the United States, it opened its Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering. It also wins significant amounts of money to fund its science programs, including sports science, and is home to some of the best science research libraries in the United States.
