Devoted to Jeremiah 29:7, the School of Business awards the B.A. in Sport Management for Grace College and Theological Seminary undergrads to pursue rewarding athletic ministry careers. Advised by Dr. Darrell Johnson, the 2014 IAHPERD Sport Management Professional of the Year, the 120-credit curriculum blends Winona Lake courses like Sport Media, Risk Management, and Biblical Interpretation. Finishing Grace College and Theological Seminary’s B.A. in Sport Management requires six to 12 credits of applied learning. Grace College and Theological Seminary was initially opened in 1937 by the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches for all-male ministry training. Eleven years later, Alva J. McClain developed an undergraduate division in Winona Lake, a Progressive Era center. During Homer Kent’s 1980s tenure, Grace College blossomed into a private, coed evangelical CCCU member with liberal arts education. Grace College and Theological Seminary Accreditation Details
In January 2013, Grace College and Theological Seminary welcomed a focused visit by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association (HLC-NCA) to retain Level V accreditation through 2019 under its sixth president, Dr. William Katip. Headquartered just 2.5 hours northwest in Chicago, this 19-state Midwest accreditor is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education to determine Federal Title-IV eligibility for Grace’s 69 baccalaureate, 10 master’s, six certificate, and two doctoral programs from Greenwood to Akron. The School of Business also received candidacy status from the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) in 2017.
Grace College and Theological Seminary Application Requirements
Classified as “moderately difficult” by Peterson’s, Grace College and Theological Seminary rejected 868 of the 4,081 Fall 2016 applications for 78 percent acceptance. First-year Lancers jousting into the B.A. in Sport Management must hold a high school diploma or GED certificate. Bachelor’s prerequisites include four years of English and three years of Math. On average, freshmen present a 3.59 GPA, 1110 SAT score, and 24 ACT score. International students take an extra test, the TOEFL, for a minimum 500 paper score. Previous 100-level or higher courses graded at least “C” can transfer after official evaluations. The M.S. in Athletic Administration only admits NIAAA and CIAAA members who’ve finished a bachelor’s education and two LTCs. The GRE-free program seeks major GPAs above 2.75.
Grace College and Theological Seminary has an Early Action deadline of November 1st or preferential deadline of March 1st for freshmen. Transfers could apply until the $250 tuition deposit is due July 1st for Fall and December 1st for Spring starts. The online MSAA has rolling graduate admission though.
