School of Health Sciences and Human Performance

Sport Management (B.S.)

Consisting of 120 credits, the Sport Management (B.S.) program is offered to Ithaca undergraduates who wish to develop the business acumen necessary for successfully leading today’s increasingly sophisticated collegiate, amateur, and/or professional sports clubs. The interdisciplinary curriculum addresses all social, ethical, economic, legal, and political factors affecting the growing sports industry. In the senior year, students have the option to complete fieldwork or an internship to gain practical experience. Ithaca College has connections with the New York Mets, Philadelphia Eagles, Boston Celtics, U.S. Olympic Committee, and Madison Square Garden. For those interested in the communications side of sports, there’s also a Sport Media (B.S.) program available.

Exercise and Sport Sciences (M.S.)

With an average class size of 10, the Exercise and Sport Sciences (M.S.) program gives graduate students advanced, individualized study in studying the science of movement. In the two-year program, students select a concentration in Exercise Physiology, Sport Psychology, or Human Performance. Those choosing the first will qualify for certification with the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). All M.S. students can follow a thesis or non-thesis track with added specialized electives. Around 75 percent of full-time graduates hold assistantships to foot their tuition bill.
